With twenty-five years of sales and sales leadership under his belt, including successful stints at world-class companies such as Taleo, PlanGrid, and Autodesk, Thomas W. Ricks, Ph.D. has now made himself available as a sales coach and consultant to early-stage technology companies.
Thomas is the “Swiss Army knife” of sales leadership. While some sales leaders have stayed in one niche (transactional, high-volume sales; or complex enterprise sales; or land-and-expand; or government sales), Thomas has enjoyed success leading teams in all of these areas. He has led teams in tiny startups and in large, publicly-traded companies, and in both PE- and VC-backed ventures.
Perhaps most importantly, he has a quality that is sometimes too rare among business leaders: the ability to teach effectively. Originally planning a career in academia before realizing how much he enjoys sales and sales leadership, Thomas has always maintained the heart of a teacher. Mentoring the careers of others has been one of greatest joys of his career, and now he seeks to make that mentoring as widely available as possible.
